“…Huge work is now underway in Azerbaijan to develop manufacturing of military equipment, arms and ammunition here. This is what the recently founded Ministry of Defense Industry is mainly aimed at. We allot big funds to the army and it is not secret that we are purchasing a considerable number of equipment, battle airplanes, weapons, ammunition and will continue this policy. But we also are able to produce the equipment we need in Azerbaijan. This is why the Ministry of Defense Industry was created and I believe as result of works done by the Ministry we will see the first production by the end of the year. After that, even greater funds will be allocated to create a military-industrial complex in Azerbaijan. Our policy in this direction is open and unambiguous. Our country needs very strong financial resources, economic potential to do all these works. Because it is the major factor to strengthen every logistics and we are doing this…”

Solemn ceremony was held on 2007 year June 22 on next - 7th graduation of Azerbaijan High Military School named after Heydar Aliyev. President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-In-Chief Ilham Aliyev addressed the ceremony.

"…At the same time in 2008 we must make more solid investments in defence industry. We have created this industry. Great achievements have been made in this sphere for a very short time. On the New Year’s Eve I examined myself the work they have done for a very short time. I was really very glad that the new elements of this industry have appeared for such a short time, we have created it and it works. People are working, producing good products, there are good potentialities for the industry development, future trends..."
